This year marks over 30 years of publishing the British Journal of Cardiology (BJC). Our first issue was in November 1993, as a new peer-reviewed cardiovascular publication linking primary and secondary care.
The BJC has always striven to provide high-quality reviews, state of the art clinical research and original papers, along with news and meeting reports. Over the years it has added topical podcasts, webinars, and comprehensive e-learning programmes for continuing professional development (CPD) to its portfolio. These resources have always been made available to UK healthcare professionals without charge.
We have recently been indexed on PubMed Central® (PMC). Fourteen distinguished medical bodies have also made it their official journal, including the British Society for Heart Failure, the British Junior Cardiologists’ Association, and HEART UK.
The recent launch of BJC TV is an exciting new addition to the BJC portfolio. This video channel provides a blend of masterclasses and shorter clinical insights, led by national and international medical opinion leaders.
We look forward to continuing to inform and lead clinical opinion.
