Introduction The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), emerged in Wuhan China and has since spread to over 180 countries.1 It was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) in March 2020.
