At our tertiary PCI centre in London, we conducted a retrospective audit of all patients admitted under the acute medical take with a diagnosis of non-ST-elevation – acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS) between October 2023 and October 2024. As per our Trust pathway, patients with NSTE-ACS were admitted under acute medicine, rather than cardiology, if they did not have significant dynamic electrocardiogram (ECG) changes, ongoing chest pain, pulmonary oedema, cardiogenic shock, ventricular arrhythmias or a history of coronary intervention in the preceding 30 days.
