We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Paul Foley (Consultant Cardiologist, Great Western Hospitals, Swindon), as an Editor of The British Journal of Cardiology (BJC), effective from January 2025. Paul joins Dr Henry Purcell and Professor Terry McCormack, who continue to make invaluable contributions to the journal.
Paul brings a wealth of experience to this role, with expertise in heart failure (including iron deficiency anaemia) and cardiac rhythm management. He has a particular interest in pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, especially conduction system pacing. He also works with the cardiology research team dedicated to clinical trials at The Wiltshire Cardiac Centre.
As Editor, he will assist in overseeing the journal’s editorial direction, working closely with the other Editors, editorial board, authors and reviewers to maintain the BJC’s high standards in cardiovascular medicine.
We look forward to an exciting future with Paul’s involvement and we invite all to welcome him to the role.
