Abstract

Introduction Twitter is a web-based micro-blogging service that defines itself as “a service for friends, family, and co-workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent messages.”1 Messages take the form of ‘Tweets’, which are a maximum of 280 characters long and may include photos, video or links to other websites, and may contain a ‘hashtag’ (e.g. #CardioEd) to help users find particular topics.
